Walton-on-the-Naze Lifeboat

This striking photograph of a lifeboat and crew was taken in 1900. The boat is named ‘James Stevens No. 14’, presumably as it was paid for by said Mr. Stevens and perhaps it was the fourteenth lifeboat to be based there. A local heritage group has preserved and restored the boat and it is used to take visitors on pleasure trips. How amazing is that!
