Chasetown is an area of Burntwood in Staffordshire. Originally a coal mining village, the pits are long-gone. This photograph, taken in the early 1900s, is interesting as the bus is owned and operated by a railway company, the London and North Western Railway (LNWR). It’s the same today with some of the UK’s largest public transport operators such as Stagecoach and First providing both train and bus services.
