Peascod Street is one of the busiest in Windsor, with its mix of high street chain stores, cafes and speciality shops. The name derives from ‘pes croft’, as peas were a staple food in Medieval times. This ‘action’ shot was taken in the 1890s and shows a bustling scene full of character and, no doubt, ‘characters’.
