Durham is a lovely city to visit at any time of year and this Victorian photograph is particularly atmospheric with the Cathedral looming through the early morning mist. However, if you look closer, you’ll notice that the romantic mist is, in fact, smoke from chimneys which, in part, is the cause of today’s environmental problems. Nevertheless, putting that to one side, this is a delightful view of Milburngate.
